. . . . .the joys and pains of stepping down . . .

Stepping out of the leadership role for the Wee Folk Fest is a bittersweet experience for me as I find myself in a whirlwind of emotions.   Firstly, Gratitude for all of those who have supported the Fest for the past 4 years,     Happiness when  reflecting on the faces of those little ones who experienced a day of magic here in MainStrasse Village,  Excitement over the new energy and ideas of those now involved in the organization of the Wee Folk Fest, Understanding that this event deserves to grow under the leadership of others with more resources,  Hope for the future of this event and the little  lives that will be touched by the magic, and finally Pride at what has been accomplished over the past four years.

My decision is certainly not without the pain of letting go and letting others .   And I would be remiss if I did not admit that I shall miss the "Wee Folk Fest" as it is replaced by "Magic in Art".   However, don't think for a moment that I will not be involved in some way in this fun event!

That said, I feel confident that Magic in Art will continue to grow and become a bigger, better magical day for the children of the area, with the goals to:   1.  offer a day of imaginative experiences to families and children at no cost to them.    2. promote Mainstrasse Village as a colorful, family friendly environment and   3.  unite art and early education to bring art enriching experiences home.
For those of you who have been asking, yes, the Wee Folk Fest has been renamed - It is now Magic In Art, 5th Annual Wee Folk Fest - although the name is new, you can expect the same fantastic festival with new and wonderful things added - it will be held on the Sixth Street Promenade from noon to 4 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2013 if you have questions, please contact stoney at 859-655-9571

Wee Folk Festival

LOOKING  TOWARD OUR 5TH ANNUAL

For the past four years, the first Saturday in October has been a very special day for local families. It is the day of the Wee Folk Fest, a magical, fun filled event that over 500 kids and parents look forward to every year!

Now as we look toward the 5th Annual Wee Folk Fest, we need your help in order to make it happen again this year.

This year we are asking for a title event sponsor and sponsors for specific events.   As title sponsor your name and logo will appear on over 1,000 flyers sent out to preschool families and elementary parents in the Covington area as well as media announcements and event signage. As an event sponsor, you will be noted in event day promotional materials and signage with your company name will be placed at the location which you are sponsoring.

Title Sponsor: $1,000

Event Sponsors:
Petting Zoo: $500
Brian Gill’s Cool Critters: $300
Helium Balloons for every child: $250

Co-sponsoring is also an option and we will help match you with other willing donors. Please contact me if you are interested in participating. We look forward to partnering with you for the 5th Annual Wee Folk Festival!
